About
Jeffrey L. Parker established his interior design firm, Jeffrey Parker Interiors, in New York in 1995, working for a roster of discerning clients he had cultivated during years of designing in Washington DC, Europe, and the Middle East.
He began his career as an interior designer in 1981 at the Washington DC offices of Victor Shargai and Associates and, later, Milo Hoots Associates.
In 1984, he was selected by the architectural firm of Angelos Demitriou, Washington DC to establish an in-house interior design department with the objective of providing a perfect turn-key design product to the growing number of the firm’s clients. Subsequently, Jeffrey Parker became affiliated with Architects International, the sister firm of Angelos Demitriou, working on design projects that were commissioned in New York, Europe, and the Sultanate of Oman. During this time, he was based in the Sultanate of Oman, working closely with buying agents in London, Paris, and Florence.
When he returned from Europe in 1990, he settled in New York City, where he became an associate of the firm Robert Metzger Interiors, completing many prestigious projects in Manhattan, Greenwich, CT, Palm Beach, FL, and The Hamptons.
His philosophy for interior design:
There's always more than one correct and aesthetically pleasing solution for any design.
As a professional designer, Jeffrey Parker is not simply an arbiter of a personal style, but he possesses the creative ability to design an interior uniquely suited to each of his clients' individual lifestyle needs. He is equally comfortable with the vernacular of the modernist 20th Century as he is with the traditional elegance of a room of 18th-century architectural detailing, fine French or English furniture, and art. It is this flexibility that keeps challenging his creativity in each new design project. He is also as comfortable with a varied color palette as with the tonalities of beige. Above all, he insists that a sense of comfort and luxury be the continuity that remains constant through all of his designs.
Jeffrey Parker received an Undergraduate Degree in Interior Design and Architecture from the University of Maryland at College Park. He graduated with honors in the interior design department, having been enrolled in one of the nation’s first five-year design programs.
Jeffrey Parker Interiors is currently involved in design projects in New York City, The Hamptons, Westchester County, and Palm Beach.
